Building a Self-Care Routine for Improved Physical and Mental Health

Self-care is an integral part of overall health and well-being but can often be overlooked or neglected in our busy lives. However, a regular self-care routine can help improve physical and mental health by reducing stress, increasing energy levels, improving sleep quality and boosting self-esteem. This article will provide tips on creating a successful self-care routine.

Prioritize Sleep:

Getting sufficient sleep every night is essential for feeling rested and energized during the day. Aim to get 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night, avoiding screens an hour before bedtime. Establishing a regular bedtime routine with relaxing activities like reading or listening to music can also help promote better sleep hygiene. This includes avoiding caffeine and nicotine late in the day, eating a light dinner, exercising during the day, and keeping consistent sleep/wake times.
