Coconut oil isn’t just for cooking: it’s also a beauty gem that you can use to fight frizz, reduce premature signs of aging, hydrate and cleanse your skin. Amazing right? I am a true believer that coconut oil is a life saver and most importantly an affordable one! Here are:
8 Uses for Coconut Oil That Will Change Your Life:
1. Deep Hair Treatment:
I had heard so much about the use of coconut oil to treat damaged hair, that I had to try myself. It’s been 3 months, and my hair feels healthier and conditioned. I use as a leave-in hair conditioner by applying a generous amount of coconut oil to the ends of the hair and then massaging through the hair to distribute it properly. Tip: put a shower cap on to prevent transfer onto bed linens and leave in overnight. The hair will be a little oily, so I advise you to shampoo it at least 3 times to get rid of any residual oil.
If you have dandruff, coconut oil has the perfect fatty acids to help improve these conditions. You can make homemade coconut conditioner.
How: 1 tbsp coconut oil mixed with a handful of your favorite conditioner/hair mask. Massage it into your scalp for 3 minutes. Leave it in for 30 minutes and then wash it. Your hair will be smoother than a baby’s bottom.
2. Improves Skin Issues:
Coconut oil treats many skin disorders. The fatty acids (Caprylic and Lauric) in coconut oil reduce inflammation internally and externally and moisturize making them a great solution for all types of skin conditions.
It has many antioxidants that help heal the skin when you have burns, eczema, dandruff, dermatitis, and psoriasis. When applied it forms a thin, chemical layer which protects the wound from outside dust, bacteria and virus.
3. Skin Lotion:
Yes, coconut oil can be used as a skin lotion. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave an oily feeling at all (as long as you go easy on the amount). I use it after showering on my legs – when I wake up my legs look incredibly silky and glowy.
You can also use it on your hands after you do the dishes. No one will know you’re Cinderella once in a while.
4. Makeup Remover: Coconut oil is an excellent makeup remover and it’s cheaper than cleansing wipes or branded makeup remover. Oh, did I mention it smells divine? It’s great for removing makeup on sensitive areas like your eyes and helps restore elasticity to the skin.
Tip: Massage the oil into your skin in circular motions. Use a warm, wet washcloth to wipe off the excess. And voila! Your skin will feel moisturized right away. Use it regularly to see better results.
5. Vitamin-E:
Vitamin-E towards skin care is essential for healthy skin growth. It keeps the skin smooth and protects against cracking. The best part? It prevents premature aging and wrinkles. 100 grams of coconut oil has about 0.1 mg of vitamin E, so make sure to make the most of this nourishing property.

It enhances the bodies ability to digest food and absorb nutrients so you can eat less without feeling weak or tired all the time.
