For a taste of Britain’s rich cultural heritage, there are few better locations than South Kensington. I was looking for a place to have afternoon tea and heard some good reviews about The Ampersand Hotel. The inside is lovely with bright paintings on the wall, bird-patterned wallpaper and extremely comfy sofas and cushions; I felt very comfortable. My-self and Flávia (my bestie), chose the following:
Classic Afternoon Tea includes four tartines – savory Gloucester ‘old spot’ ham with sauce gribiche; Coronation chicken; H. Forman & Son London smoked salmon with dill and cream cheese; Cheese with fruit chutney – followed by scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of delicate pastries.
I really enjoyed the time we’ve spent there, and would definitely come back for some drinks. but not sure I would come back for the actual food. But maybe I’m just too fussy.
