Most of you might have heard about London Fashion Weekend. It happens right after London Fashion week and it is a fabulous fashion event where you can get your hands on some really cool & trendy pieces fresh from the runway. I attended London Fashion Weekend last year with my boyfriend but it was very different comparing to this year’s experience. Last year we bought the silver tickets and attended the trend show like everyone else. However, this year I was invited by Currys PC World & Canon to attend their ‘Shoot The Show’ experience at London Fashion Weekend.I own a Canon since I was 15 years old and absolutely love their cameras – so, I was extremely happy with the invite.
London Fashion Weekend:
J.JS Lee is a very talented designer and there was a lot of bold colours involved this year. I love this tweed jacket and dress. It would definitely keep you warm during winter. On the day, I headed to The Sloane Club where we were given a briefing & some tips from Canon, followed by a talk with fashion & beauty photographer, Tina Eisen.
After learning some useful tips from Tina, the Canon team took us to the Saatchi gallery, where we were able to claim a spot in the Photographers Pit & capture the best shots from the J.JS Lee show & a Trend catwalk show. I’d never been in the “Photographers’ Pit” before, so I made sure to make the most out of the catwalk experience.Winter florals were the centrepiece at the trend show, so I’m sure a lot of people will get on board with the trend. Now, when I saw the pit… I’m not going to lie, it was tiny. With room for around 30 photographers at the same time. Which means that you’ll have to be very strategic in order not to get heads in your shots Ha-Ha.After the shows, we had full access to the London Fashion Weekend shopping area where you can snap bargains from over 150 brands. I mean, is there a better time or place to update your winter wardrobe than at LFW?This was an exclusive opportunity and I’m really grateful for being involved in such a remarkable experience and get a taste of what it’s like to capture what’s seen on the runway. I will definitely brag about it forever!Just in case you guys are wondering, I used Canon EOS 600D to take these pictures.
