How To Get Your Home Ready For Winter

Winter has come, with the cold season upon us we adapt our wardrobes and search for warmer pieces. But, how about the most important thing? The place where we spend most of the winter: our homes.

How to prepare the house for winter? Small modifications can create the ideal atmosphere for those who want to enjoy the coldest season of the year with great comfort. Want to know how to do this? Here are some tips:CHOOSE APPROPRIATE WINTER COLORS

Outside the temperature soon begins to drop. Inside the house, you should align the decor to go with the cozier season. One way to do this is by changing the color scheme of the rooms. Colors like brown, grey and marsala and are very wintery and really create the right atmosphere to make you feel like spending the winter at home.GET PILLOWS WITH SMOOTH FABRICS

To face the winter it’s not just about taking the blankets out of the boxes. You should also invest in some nice cushions to enhance the decor of your living room. After all, this space should also be cosy enough to welcome the whole family in the winter, right? I would recommend cushions with soft fabrics such as velvet and suede. If you want, you can also add a sofa blanket made of the same material to make everything warmer and snuggly.LIGHTING

Another way to get your home ready for winter’s arrival is to change the lights. Keep in mind that the welcoming feeling should predominate. So, remove the white bulbs and place the yellow bulbs instead. You should also have lots of candles as they illuminate the room and provide warmth without having to spend too much money.  FLUFFY RUGS

Carpets and rugs are essential to equip the house in winter. After all, nobody wants to feel the cold floor under their foot, right? Plain and basic rugs can be replaced with cuddly and fluffy rugs to make the room even more winter-ready.DINING TABLE SEMI-SET

My dining table has this lovely centerpiece on a nice runner and looks when you walk-in. It gives a lovely intimate and relaxed mood to the room. I wouldn’t recommend having plates and glasses out as it is not practical but, having nice decoration e.g. candle holder and flowers will definitely make the dining table look much more homely.
Most of my winter decor is from Debenhams. For those who don’t know (where have you been?), they are a leading international, multi-channel brand with a proud British heritage. I love shopping at their stores as they have an exclusive mix of own brands and other brands, which means you can find anything you’re looking for.
