3 Tips for Healthy, Smooth, and Flawless Skin

Skin is your largest organ, and it needs lots of care. It’s also the first thing people tend to see first. Cracked and peeling cheeks or rough hands isn’t appealing.

A good skincare routine prevents several skin problems and delays natural aging. The routine should not be daunting or expensive. You can use cheap and natural products, which are readily available.

Get started with these three effective tips and tricks.

  1. Eat Healthily

Your skin can be a reflection of your diet. The adage, “you’re what you eat,” is fortunately true. You might have the best face mask for home facial treatment or cream, but flawless skin comes from within.

When you eat a balanced diet, you feed your skin with essential nutrients to help it stay flawless, soft, and supple.

Veggies and fruits contain powerful antioxidants that protect your skin from cell damage. Eat a rainbow of vegetables and fruits every day. Sweet potatoes, carrots, papaya, pumpkin, and kale are healthy food for healthy skin.

Don’t forget to eat vitamin C for a robust immune system. Vitamin C also enhances radiant skin. The vitamin helps in the production of collagen.  The best vitamin C sources are broccoli, oranges, sweet potatoes, blueberries, and kiwi fruits.

  1. Treat Your Skin Gently

Your skin gets exposed to lots of stress every day. External aggressors like sun, dirt, falling objects, and pollution can take a toll on your skin. Worse still, you get rough while taking a bath.

Start by detoxing your skin. Makeup gives you a good look, but you need to free yourself from makeup to allow the skin to breathe. And ensure you use the skin tapping technique whenever applying a product.

Embrace a tender cleaner that won’t strip your beautiful skin of the essential oils. Don’t be harsh while scrubbing your face. Exfoliation is crucial to a skincare routine, but always be gentle.

If you have dry skin, apply a moisturizer that’s suitable for your skin type. Shave carefully by applying shaving cream, gel, or lotion. Use a sharp, clean razor to avoid getting bumps.

  1. Protect Your Skin from Sun

Exposing your skin to the sun can cause age spots, wrinkles, and even skin cancer. Be very careful around sand and water because these surfaces always reflect the UV rays. It can lead to increased chances of sunburn.

You should also limit the time under the sun. Avoid basking under the sun between 10 am – 4 pm since this is when the rays are intense. If possible, always wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

For additional protection, buy clothes designed with sun-protective fabrics.

When going out, wear sunglasses and a hat. The sunglasses should be able to absorb 99% of UV rays for maximum protection.

And most importantly, wear sunscreen every day- whether it’s sunny or cloudy. Apply the cream at least 30 minutes before stepping out.
