I love citrus, fresh and soft floral perfumes. For, a while I found it difficult to find fragrances that really matched my personality.
I tend to jump between scents all the time but I have fallen in love with three perfumes and today I will share the reasons why they have become my favorites of the moment.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN COLOGNE, TOILETTE AND PARFUM:
I think it’s worth mentioning the differences when classifying a perfume. They are divided into Eau de Cologne, Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum. In addition to these, there’s also Parfum.
In a simpler language: this is nothing more than the amount of essence (oils) diluted in the bottle and the duration and fixation of the perfume in our skin. The concentration will set the intensity of the smell. To understand it a little better, see below:
Eau de Cologne: 2 to 5% of essence. Lasts about 1 to 2 hours. This is a faint perfume.
Eau de Toilettte: 5 to 10% of essence. Lasts about 3 hours. Perfume medium.
Eau de Parfum: 10 to 15% of essence. Lasts about 5 hours. Strong perfume.
Parfum: 15 to 40% of essence. Lasts about 7 hours. Very strong perfume.
Now that we have clarified the different types of perfumes, let’s see which ones have seduced me:
Alaïa Paris –
The Notes
Top: Cedarwood and Cashmeran
Heart: Iris and Orange Blossom
Base: Animal Notes, Musky Notes and Tonka Bean Absolute
Elizabeth and James Nirvana White (Eau de Parfum)
This is sophisticated and elegant – definitely a special occasion perfume. With light floral notes of peony, this has become one of my go-to’s.
I would say that Nirvana White is probably the most neutral scent in the entire collection. It’s very pretty with an undertone of light florals with a sexy sort of warm cashmere feeling scent on top. It lasts maybe 4 hours on skin and clothing before a touch up is needed.
The great thing about this perfume is the fact that it is a scent that you can wear all four seasons, it just works. It is light and girly while also being warm and seductive. I have become such a fan.
The Notes:
-Peony
-Muguet
-Tender Musk
Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Pure Nectar de Parfum
The bottle is nice and simple which I love as I have all my perfumes out and I don’t like crazy packagings. In regards to the actual scent, it captures a pure scent of a flower. This is great everyday perfume and it stays on for a long time. I have been wearing it to work every day and so many of my colleagues have noticed it and made great comments about how great and fresh it smells – such a great find!
The Notes:
Top notes: Honey pear
Heart notes: The encounter of a bud covered with dew with a blooming rose
Base notes: Creamy sandalwood
As you guys know, perfumes are very personal, but I would absolutely recommend these three as I have been wearing them non-stop. I hope you enjoyed this post and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
