#TaisLanyTravels Discoveries and tips when traveling to Prague
If you follow me on Snapchat you probably know that this trip was actually a birthday surprise from my boyfriend and I only found out the destination at the airport as we were checking in. I mean, I only saw things like this happen in romantic movies – so it was a huge deal and I felt extremely blessed and loved.I was surprised once again! Champagne and a Birthday cake awaited for me in our room #LuckyGirlBecause it was a surprise trip, I didn’t do any research about the places we should visit or restaurants we should try – but the cool thing about Prague is that the attractions are concentrated in the same region and you can explore almost everything in the city without using public transport – my boyfriend and I walked everywhere! Prague is a charming little town. Its historical part has medieval style, making the visit a journey through time.It will take your breath away!Again, the best way to see the city is on foot but don’t freak out the Czech capital has a great urban transport system with trams and subway stations throughout the city (we just didn’t use it). At night the main monuments are lid with light, making the city even more charming and romantic. We only stayed two nights, but I would recommend at least three days in the city to explore and shop around. But it can easily be done in two days if you don’t mind the rush. PS: as you will be doing quite a lot of walking, make sure to drinks loads and loads of water to keep skin hydrated. We stayed at Hilton Old Town, which is fairly close to the Old Town Square (an obligatory stop). There you will find the famous Astronomical Clock (Oroloj), which is a clock with special mechanisms and dials to display astronomical information, such as the relative positions of the sun, moon, zodiacal constellations, and sometimes major planets. You can also climb the tower of City Hall to enjoy the view of the city.

Now, let’s not forget about the main postcards of the city, the Charles Bridge. It is the oldest bridge in the city with approximately 500m, and connects the Old Town and the Lower Town. No cars allowed, which makes the bridge dominated by tourists. The bridge has a tower at each of its ends and along its length for more than 30 baroque sculptures. Be sure to enjoy the bridge at night time when the lights are on.We didn’t really take advantage of the river, but if you ever go to Prague make sure to take a boat ride along the city. There are several companies offering this service. Some tours are fast, others longer with the option of having meals (fancy).

Tip:
– Segway Tours – A good way to explore Prague and have fun is to rent a Segway, you will see them everywhere around old-town square. It costs around 1500 CZK per person for a 3 hr tour.
Prague has the cutest streets, everywhere you look there is history and art. I would definitely like to go back with a little more time.
