#TaislanyReviews Mac and Wild:

Tucked away in Fitzrovia (amazing area) just north of Oxford Street is little gem called Mac and Wild. It’s a Scottish game restaurant which serves up a different type of brunch than one might be used to in London. It isn’t a Sottish themed restaurant, it’s really a great restaurant that serves Scottish game. However, you will still find some typically Scottish items on the menu.Mac and Wild Scottish

You can also check my experience with Korean cuisine here.

For example, I am sure you have heard of the (in)famous haggis. They serve it with their own touch. It had been recommended to me before my visit but I was still suspicious of what it would be like and wasn’t sure I was going to try it. Now, if you don’t know what haggis is, google it and I am sure you will want to try it 🙂

For our starters we had two “wee plates” – the Haggis pops, Red Jon and to accompany the haggis we ordered the Venison Scotch Egg. What a treat! My boyfriend preferred the scotch egg which was so fresh and really full of flavour that he didn’t really want to share it. Luckily I liked the Haggis pops more. I never thought I would say that it was my favourite item we tried but it really was delicious! Perfectly seasoned and it really got me in the mood for more Scottish food.Mac and Wild ScottishIt was my first time trying the Venison Scotch Egg and all I thought was “Oh Boy! This is delicious!!”.Mac and Wild ScottishFor our main we had Kedgeree (amazing flaked trout with rice – really well balanced and fresh dish) and a delightful plate of Scooby Snack (awesome name for a very filling meal). We also had some Mash and Haggis mac ‘n’ cheese to go with the mains.Mac and Wild ScottishThe main takeaways from Mac and Wild are:

1. You HAVE to try the Haggis! You will not be disappointed. When in Rome people!
2. All dishes are very well presented and tasted divine! They hit the balance perfectly here with their condiments and ingredients.
3. I liked the wooden decor as it ties in well with the food creates a very distinct touch.
4. An introduction to a cuisine that I did not know much about before coming hereMac and Wild Scottish

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…Mac and Wild ScottishI have a sweet tooth so, I had to give their dessert a try. My boyfriend and I had a fair amount of good food, so we decided to share this delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding (I Shouldn’t But I Will) accompanied by coffee to give us a little buzz (a nap was going to be needed if not). I’m not going to lie, I was quite relieved that we didn’t order one dessert each as it was a little rich. If it’s just two of you,  I would definitely recommend to share it. But if there’s one thing I know is that you won’t regret ordering this chocolate delight. Mac and Wild ScottishOverall, we had such a lovely time at Mac and Wild. The food was delicious and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back for more of this epic food.  Mac and Wild ScottishHow magical is the downstairs space? #GotToLoveMacAndWild Mac and Wild Scottish
