Review: Bubba Gump Shrimp

Hi Dolls, I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard of  Bubba Gump Shrimp; I didn’t up until 2 months ago. The restaurant is themed around the movie Forrest Gump (I’ve never watched it but people often say it’s a classic). They also have a souvenir shop on the ground floor were you can purchase various things to mark your visit . Side Tip: this restaurant would be a great way for parents to distract their kids for a few hours as the interior is huge and full of things to look at.

What do they serve? Seafood!! If you read my blog, you’ll know that I absolutely love seafood and since my first visit I craved their shrimp like crazy, so we decided to re-visit the restaurant. Here are our choices:
Bubba Gump ShrimpTo start with, my newest favorite drink: Solarita!! Which is their traditional margarita with a squeeze of lime is topped with a Sol, making it an extra special treat. AND.. the shaker goes home with you free of charge (… well, you do pay £13.95 for the drink).

Oh, the décor is really fun, lots of things to see, lots going on!

Moving on, to starters we chose the Shrimper’s Net Catch: which is Shrimp steamed in Beer (delicious).

As well as: Cajun Shrimp Sautéed in a hot and spicy Cajun Butter Sauce. Served with Garlic Bread for dippin’. Now, this one has a lot of flavor and it’s nothing like I’ve ever tried before; I normally don’t like spicy food, but because it’s so tasty I didn’t even mind. Definitely my favorite of the menu.

Mains (From the Grill):

For the main I chose the Chargrilled Rib-Eye Steak which is a a tender 8oz Rib-Eye served with Mashed Potatoes, Frizzled Onions and juicy sliced Tomato (the steak was truly tender, and the frizzled onions were such a great addition to the meat).

Meanwhile, my boyfriend went for the: Lt. Dan’s Surf & Turf, which contained their award winning Dixie Style Baby Back Ribs (slow roasted to perfection) along with Grilled Shrimp (which tasted divine) and French Fries.

Their desserts looked amazing, but we were extremely full. Maybe next time we’ll order less and get to try the Best of the best sampler.Review: Bubba Gump ShrimpIt’s not fine dining but it’s a real fun dinner!
