How To Wear Burgundy (Right)!

Post by Taislany Gomes • July 14, 2016 • Fashion

Hey chicas, it’s been a while since I have done an #OOTD right? So, I decided to be sassy and inject some burgundy in my life. Burgundy is much more popular during autumn/winter so I decided to make it hot during summer as well! I mean, I don’t follow rules, do you? #Badass

Burgundy is a little tricky to get right and it can seem so overwhelming when it comes to picking items to pair it with, so I thought I’d challenge myself and create a post on how to wear the colour burgundy right.

I love the contrast of this darker and richer tone of red.  It’s definitely the type of colour you should wear if you’re looking turn heads.burgundy

How To Wear Burgundy:

Pair With Black Skinny Jeans
Skinny jeans are an everyday wardrobe essential and we all know that – but black skinny jeans just takes an outfit to a whole new level. Skinny jeans are great, they tick all the boxes both for work or just casual events. They’re slimming and they will go with everything! Slay girl, slaaaay!
burgundyPair With Neutrals
Pairing burgundy with neutrals such as black, white and grey is the safest way to style mauve or any colour you are unsure how to style. Neutral colours will allow the most vibrant colour to stand out more and can even make an outfit look better balanced. If you want to lift the look a little you can also pair mauve with cream or navy blue for some extra flair.
Play With Textures and Silhouettes
A great way to style burgundy or any other colour is to pick items with feminine textures and silhouettes that will highlight your curves. You could go for a pencil or mini skirt that has a mauve tone and pair it a black sexy bodysuit. By adding texture e.g. leather will make the look more feminine and flirty.
burgundyPair With Prints
Pairing burgundy with prints is totally acceptable. It will make you look contemporary and bold. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but if you’re feeling brave then I’d tell you: “Go for it girl!”. We need to start playing more with mauve and mix it with bright prints but if you want to keep it safe then stick with black and white stripes.burgundy
 Pair With Accessories
Accessories are an essential item for any look guys! Even little earrings or small rings count. If there’s one thing that I think you should invest on is a good watch. Watches are not only practical but also add a touch of sophistication and a sense of “I’m ready for business”. This rose gold watch by Marc Bale is perfect for both work and more elaborate occasions.13606648_913945858711229_2436697636668693462_n
