Looking Ahead To The Fashion Ideas Of The Year

As the turn of the year fades into the distance and we all start to settle into the coming twelve months, there are some important changes that those of us with fashion on the mind will be looking for. The trends for the rest of the year are coming at us thick and fast and the only way to be prepared is to look ahead at what is to come. So with that in mind, here is a look at what to expect in fashion trends for spring/summer 2019.

First of all, we are going to look at what stylists are recommending for earrings. They are one of the most popular items of accessory used around the world and staying on top of what is hot is important. Depending on what you’re looking for, some of the ideas coming out of the major fashion weeks last year when it comes to jewellery will blow you away. A common theme was the return of large earrings, ones that emulated the glamour of the 70s. You could see a theme developing among some of the top designers with regards to glittery and bold earwear, but it didn’t stop at disco-ball style earrings. No, in fact, all the shows had different earrings styles to look at and in Milan, shells were seen on the models of Etro with pearl trimmings.

Top handle bags are expected to be the big ticket item in the handbag world for 2019. Famous for regularly being donned by royalty, you will be looking at handbags that have clean lines to match their top handles. But if that design doesn’t give you much excitement, there are handbags expected to be on trend this spring. The return of the furry bag is expected to continue as well as the popular trunk. And finally, as the homage to the fashion of the 80s continues into this year, the shoulder bag will remain a must-have accessory.

Finally, the biggest question for the season. What colours are in and which are out? Well, to give you something to work with we are looking at a few different styles that are said to be very much the shades of the year. For those of you looking for an understated look, beige is a big yes this year and will be a perfect match for the previously mentioned clean-lined top handle bag. And for the bold and colourful out there, you should be looking for neon and pastel colours. The softer shades of pastel colours will be a welcome alternative to their more brash partner, neon this season.

Keep your eyes peeled on London Fashion Week in February to see what else is to come in 2019. You’ll find all the top designers will be continuing to innovate and evolve their styles with the new colours and looks of the seasons to come.
