Farfetch (Review) – TwentyOne St. Johns Wood

Remember when I went to visit one of the 400+ boutiques under Farfetch’s umbrella? I had the pleasure to visit TwentyOne in St. Johns Wood where I was able to look around the boutique, learn more about Farfetch’s revolutionary way to buy fashion and try on some exclusive looks that had just arrived at the boutique.

Farfetch (Review) – TwentyOne St. Johns Wood:

After a long working collaboration with the retail icon Joseph Ettedgui, Elaine Davis opened TwentyOne St. Johns Wood 21 years ago, and guess what? I had the pleasure of meeting her during my visit – she is a true inspiration.  farfetchShe explained the concept of TwentyOne and how it all started.  Along with the Joseph collection you will find international brands and new labels. TwentyOne is definitely a one-stop boutique for shoppers who desire a unique and personal experience.farfetchI was intrigued to learn that Farfetch has 400 of the world’s best independent designer boutiques. It allows their customers, across 180 countries to shop an unparalleled range of brands and unique pieces.IMG_4906The partner stores have been carefully selected for their unique approach, forward-thinking attitude, diversity, and include such renowned boutiques as Browns in London, L’Eclaireur in Paris, H. Lorenzo in LA, Fivestory in New York and Smets in Luxembourg.farfetchA fact that I really enjoyed finding out is that the brand was founded by a Portuguese entrepreneur named José Neves. I lived in Portugal for 5 years so the country and it’s culture is really close to my heart.
farfetchAs mentioned in the beginning of the post, I was lucky enough to try some exclusive pieces. This Chloe Darcey choker grabbed my attention as I entered the store so, I stalked it for a while (ha-ha). Being able to try it on was a lovely touch and made my experience at TwentyOne that much more enjoyable and fun.

farfetchWhat about this relaxed light candy trousers? It fits like a glove and feels light and comfortable – a key piece for a modern woman’s wardrobe.farfetchAlexander Wang creates elaborate and iconic designs, so I couldn’t resist trying this fringed blazer and skirt. The blazer features a sleeveless design, an open front, front flap pockets, fringed edges and eyelets – making it a statement outfit.farfetchFarfetch has become a popular way for shoppers to locate hard-to-find or little-produced runway looks and sizes, and it has helped many small boutiques find a global following.farfetchThey are also the first online store to provide an exclusive instalment programme to their clients in Brazil. It’s an international concierge program, called F6, which allows Farfetch’s customers to buy and receive their products abroad. The products will be delivered directly to the international destination chosen by the customer and can be delivered to their hotel, home or even at their office abroad.

How does F6 work? You can buy your desired handbag in a boutique in Paris and have it delivered in the United States, all this with a big advantage: the amount charged will be the same as if you had bought it in person in Paris. You’ll be able to pay in up to 6x with no interests – fabulous right? They accept returns and the cost of return shipping is on them.farfetchHow to use the programme? Before your trip (2-3 days before), you enter Farfetch’s website, log-in and access the international website. After choosing the product, determine the delivery address abroad and voilà, you’ll have your parcel in a few days.

F6 offers fast delivery; up to 5 working days on national products and 7 working days on imported products. By signing up, you’ll get access to the top designers with prices that you’ll only find in New York, Milan or Paris.
farfetchTo end the experience, I also tried this gorgeous broderie anglaise tie waist dress by Carven and paired it with this stunning wedge sandals by Paloma Barceló. The perfect look for a sunny day in Cannes, won’t you agree?

Overall, the few hours that I spent at TwentyOne St Johns Wood were very pleasant. I came away with a better understanding and knowledge of designer brands, and I was able to take a closer look at items that I had only seen at runways or at fashionistas Instagram feed. It’s safe to say that I will come back for some shopping soon.

What about you guys? Have you ever shopped at Farfetch? If so, how was your experience? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
