Starting or having a blog is not about fame and recognition (maybe a little). If you want to start a blog it should be because you have a voice and would like others to hear it.
You might be thinking: “why would I start a blog if there’s thousands of them on the internet?” or even “how would I stick out from the crowd?”. Those are the wrong questions! You should be asking yourself how you can apply your own life experiences and knowledge to help others like you. Yes, there are thousands of blogs out there but no one is like YOU! None of them have the same exact thoughts as you not even if they tried. We are all different and that’s why it’s never too late to start a blog or anything new in your life.
Why start a blog now:
“Now” is always the perfect time. We keep telling ourselves that it’s not the right time to do this or that so, when is the perfect time exactly? I am talking from personal experience and that’s why I don’t want you to commit the same mistake I did.
I wish I had started blogging when it first started to be a “thing”. Can you imagine how much more experience I would have as a blogger?! I would probably be more established, making a seven figure income from blogging and living very comfortably before my 30’s. That’s why you should never wait for the “perfect moment” because I am sorry to say this but, it doesn’t exist.
“Instead of dreaming of “one day” make today THAT day” ✌
It’s Christmas time and all our money goes towards presents and getting everything ready for the holidays. Not an excuse, you know why? Creating a blog is free – yes, my friend FREE! When I created my blog back in 2014 I used a free address (taislany.wordpress.
Personal £2.50 per month, billed yearly
Best for Personal Use: Boost your website with a custom domain name, and remove all WordPress.com advertising.
I used the Personal plan for a while and then decided to go self-hosted as I really wanted to be in control of my blog e.g. upload and use plugins, upload custom themes and modify theme files (not just styles). Having a self-hosted blog is also affordable, it costs me £2.45 a month.
2. You’ll be your own boss.
This is one of the best benefits when you start a blog. There’s no guideline or procedure, just you and your amazing and creative ideas! You can do it when it’s good for you and write whatever you mind tells you. You’ll be in total control!
Whether you want to create a blog where you share posts that help readers with their personal lives or just want to share your personal lifestyle. It will all be in your hands. Obviously, it doesn’t have to be a lonely process, you can bring your friends and family in this adventure too. When I first started my mom used to take my outfit pictures and my friends would recommend topics that I should talk about. But when it comes to the final decisions, you’ll be the boss!
3. Potential Income.
This shouldn’t be the only incentive for creating a blog by 2017 but, it’s definitely a possibility if you take it seriously. There are many ways to monetize your blog, for example:
+ Product placement
+ Sponsored posts
+ Brand Ambassador
+ Banner advertisement
+ Events & travel
+ Affiliate programs
+ Email marketing
There are many bloggers who make between £1000 and £10,000 a month blogging and with hard work you can be one of them.
4. It’s fun.
You’ll get to know some amazing fellow bloggers who are interested in the same things as you are and that could lead to some awesome collaborations and even long-lasting friendships.
There are also some pretty cool and exclusive events that you would get invited to instead of having to pay an entrance fee to access. These events also work as a great place to network and make new connections.
